UFO in widescreen clip

Hi all,

Jerry sent me a DIVX clip from the episode FLIGHT PATH.
For those of you who have a DIVX player and are
able to download a 40MB file, here it is:

So Jerry, this taken from Family Room HD?

Although one cannot tell everything from a compressed
DIVX clip, it appears that the transfer quality is
not quite as good as in the DVDs (meaning that the contrast
is not as good, the colors are not as vibrant, etc.).
Also, it sounds like this clip has been time-compressed/
sped up, as the voices seem a bit higher than the
NTSC version (although to someone used to PAL versions,
they probably sound fine).

So perhaps people shouldn't be so excited about the
HDTV transfer of UFO, as the existing DVDs may
be superior?

(rumor has it that the HDTV versions of UFO were *not*
remastered by BBC Resources, who did the excellent
job on the DVD masters)

Jerry here this was just from a Pal clip I downloaded from the net.
I took it in a program an remade it in 16x9 an so the master was a 300
meg file so very small. Trust me when I say the high Deff stuff on tv
is very very clean. You were right it was a Pal clip that I turned into
NTSC. It was more to show how the cropping effected the look of the
show.
