Hi all,
Teresa from ISOSHADO noted that the the February 28th "People" column in the UK newspaper "The Times" by Hugo Rifkind takes a jab at UFO in a blurb about actor Steven Berkoff (who played one of Interceptor pilots): "Speaking as part of Jewish Book Week, Steven Berkoff told audiences of being captivated by books as a child. 'We were spared the corrosive, dumbing, negative, anaesthetic impact of television,' he said. Certainly, television can be pretty shoddy. In particular, we're thinking of The Avenger, The Saint, The Professionals, UFO, War and Rememberance, Star Trek Deep Space Nine, Children of Dune and Jonathan Creek. Now remind us, which actor was it that they all had in common?' This writer seems rather annoying... :-) Marc |
I read this as the writer trying to be sarcastic, saying that none
of these shows were good enough for Berkoff to watch but were ok for him to be in. True, but Berkoff does have plenty of form for this kind of thing. He has
appeared in his fair share of Hollywood films then slagged off both the films and his fellow actors for working on them. No doubt in all humility, he presents himself as a man of high principle. Hmmmm.
