All this talk about the UFO music being officially released is making me
really excited. It doesn't take much.
I've suggested a number of ideas to Fanderson, which they may or may not
take on board. It might be worth considering releasing the music as an audio
track on the DVD releases - that would allow all the music to be released,
and (potentially) wouldn't cost more in terms of musician's re-use fees.
Alternatively, Fanderson could 'licence' their remastered versions of the
music back to Carlton for use on the DVDs, in exchange for funding to
produce further volumes of UFO music. Given the two series of Space 1999
took four CDs to complete (running time of five hours), it's not
unreasonable to think there's a market for two double CDs of UFO music.
I also suggested that if there is a bit of music left over from UFO that
doesn't fit onto the UFO releases (however many there might be), they could
consider releasing it on future music releases; Secret Service, for example,
can't have a great deal of music because it didn't last that long.
Anyway, just some thoughts.
