Well, looking at it on the bright side, it means I can put off buying a DVD
thingie until 2002 - perhaps by that time DVD writers will be available AND
affordable? (I can't imagine ever wanting to buy a normal DVD player since
such a thing won't record and buying movies or whatever tapes only to find
they are shown on TV a few months or years later always annoys me... except
if they are UFO-eps, of course :-)

I have sworn to buy a DVD player when UFO will arrive on DVD as
suddenly I had the chance to buy a cheap player (but a trade mark)
which is code free. I payed ATS 4.000,-- (hmm, that's about 170
pounds or 260 Dollars) and meanwhile I have a lot of US DVDs from
amazon.com and I am thrilled by the quality and the features - WOW!!!

And I think we have to wait a few years before a DVD recorder for
a reasonable price is available and til then I will need a new player
anyhow :-)
