UFO videos

Anthony Appleyard
I am in north England. I have both complete sets of the UFO series videos. Is there any market at all for videotapes now? Or should I throw them away to save the space that they are occupying? Will there any time soon be a Gerry Anderson convention anywhere near Manchester (UK)?

So these are VHS videotapes?  I don't know what the market is for these, if there is one.
I'd be interested in the cover artwork, depending on which videos these are (Channel 5?
Polygram?  Digital Entertainment?).  But no, I'd suspect that most people would be
better off with the DVDs.

The next Anderson convention I know about is Andercon 2014, although I'm not
sure how much stuff there will be of interest to fans of UFO:

I am prepared to let someone have these videos, if he lives near enough to me for me to take them there in person.

I remember when I bought the Polygram set of UFO VHS in the early 2000s for £80. I only watched them the once and although one was faulty I sold them in 2004 for only £44! The Carlton DVDs were a lot better of course! I had most of the Channel 5 vids but they were missing a few of the shows anyways as you probably know!

I am northwest England. I have both sets of UFO videos. Do you know anywhere they could have a good home?, to help to unclutter my storage at home.

VHS is a dead technology I keep being told and DVD might be next if everyone keeps on preferring downloads...

Yes, I'd think that the only people who'd want UFO on VHS these days is someone
who wants them as a collectable.  They probably wouldn't want to play them, since
they'd either be playing them on DVD, streaming, or Blu-ray these days.

As a barometer of the current state with videotapes, near me is a community shop that accepts unwanted goods of many sorts for people of the area to buy --- but they don't accept videotapes.

Yes, I imagine that you are 10 - 20 years too late for that.  They are probably now
just considered to be trash... or collectibles... :-)
