I have to say that in general, The cover of the box is really all I ever
imagined and dremaed it to be. Somehow, through my life I always connected
UFO with blue tones and here they are! The series was full of mystery and it
is here, too, not revealing too much. I have to say that, for me it is much
better than screaming red Digital Entertainment covers full of everything
and then more, and I am so happy they decided for unsensationalistic
approach. The bias in the list concerning the cover shows obvious difference
between the tastes of European and US population and the reason for doing
different versions. I have to admit that some of the elements of the cover
could have been handled better, though. Tag line (aliens are colonizing the
earth) has ne reason for existence at all, and the font has nothing to do
with the style of the series. Also, weights of the typography elements could
have been played with more before it was finished and also the shado logo
gives much oportunities for creative use, alas here they are not exploited.
Of the Anderson titles, published so far on DVD, I have to admit, Captain
Scarlet has been treated the best design-wise, but I think that UFO could
have been treated much worse than it really is, (remember US VHS tapes) so
in general, I am happy.
