Underground Moonbase.

Kevin Lazenby-3
I don`t agree with the arguement that Moonbase wouldn`t have been built
underground, because of the seismic activity of building the moonbase
making it detectable, plus removing
& dispersing the excess moonrock - as this argument can be used against the
building of
the underground Interceptor hangers etc.

There was also the argument over the time element of building underground.
10 years
(The time it took to set up SHADO) is plenty of time to build
underground......Maybe just
a small point to nitpick over!

RE: Underground Moonbase.

Veres, Mary
But if it was underground you wouldn't have those cool bulbous compartments
to look at from an external camera shot! I always used to thing those were
the coolest looking things...it made it real when placed on the surface of
the moon. Underground would have been another SHADO HQ that no one really
knows what it looks like.

Not quite 10 years. SHADO was created in December 1970,
construction on SHADO HQ was begun in 1972, they took between a year
and two years to get the electronics and computer systems working
and recruitment of personnel began that year as well (see "Confetti
Check A-OK"). Moonbase was designed and built last
(see "Destruction"). It's reasonable to suppose that in the
intervening years, Skydiver, the interceptors and the equipment of
SHADO were designed and built.
