>We never get pictures like this on the Space:1999 list(Except for those of
Catherine Schell kicking pictures!)< Gee! So that means you haven't seen the ones of Catherine Schell from her film LIANE,QUEEN OF THE AMAZONS/aka LANA , QUEEN OF THE AMAZONS,where she goes for a skinny dip and wears a loincloth and a bikini top for a costume. This was back when she was still using the Von in her name. James K. [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] |

>I doubt it, I really think they would just reshoot, wouldn't you? Or just
edit her out. >James Well the cheapest way would be to edit her out. But there she is in those episode where she is seen so maybe a lot of her scene are on the editing room floor. As to reshooting, that is the most expensive way in film and TV to correct a problem. You have the cost of the cast and crew to pay again and the time it takes to reshoot. Time is a valueable thing in shooting a TV series. You have to do a episode in a certain number of days to get finished on time and be out so someone else can start filming whatever they have planed when you have finished your series. Running over costs money. So does the extra film to reshoot. So the cheapest way would be to edit her out or airbrush her she in post production. James K. In any case, Christian has looked through the episodes, and did some frame captures from IDENTIFIED and CLOSE UP: http://ufoseries.com/moon Based on these plus the production shots, it's my opinion that in IDENTIFIED her breasts were only partially covered, while in the rest of the series she wore a flesh colored v-neck t-shirt. Hey, take a look at the guy in the back on this shot http://ufoseries.com/moon/close09.jpg and on that one: http://ufoseries.com/moon/ident01.jpg I think he is checking her boosters :-)) Coming back to the toppic take a look at these shots from SUB-SMASH. Here's Nina Barry in the tube: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SHADO/files/memorymetropolis/subsm- strakerbarry01.jpg Now we get a little bit closer... http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SHADO/files/memorymetropolis/subsm- strakerbarry02.jpg ...and closer... http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SHADO/files/memorymetropolis/subsm- strakerbarry03.jpg ...and finally... http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SHADO/files/memorymetropolis/subsm- strakerbarry04.jpg So, is this a help to our discussion? James? :^-) Christian |

Hi All :)
A few years back, Dolores Mantez did a TV interview during a run of UFO on British Southern TV. She mentioned having to wear a flesh coloured body stocking underneath her SkyDiver uniform top. There was quite a bit of joking over this matter with the interviewer (Partial quote: "the body stocking was definitely necessary under the circumstances!!") together with talk about how many wigs were worn in the series and by whom... she showed the wig during the interview, but declined to wear it. I still have this interview on video, I think there were a few other titbits discussed as well... (ouch, please excuse the pun... ;-) A few weeks later, Ed Bishop was interviewed as well - I have that on video as well. Best to all, Griff ps. I'm nearly recovered now BTW to those of you that were kind enough to wish me luck last year :) |

For those of you who'd like to hear the whole thing, I've uploaded the audio of the complete interview here: http://ufoseries.com/lateNightLateDolores.mp3 She doesn't really say much in this interview, although I found it interesting that she said something about a friend of her son's being the current owner of one of the futuristic UFO cars... This interview was in 1988. Marc |

> Is this a help to our discussion James? First off, boosters? I've heard them called a lot of things over the years including headlights but this is the first time I' ve ever heard them called boosters<g>. As to if its a help to our discuss yes and no. I had looked at the photos of Georgina earlier today when Marc posted them. The shot from Identified is clearly different from the one from Close Up. The one in Identified looks as if she has nothing on under the shirt. The one from Close Up that is indeed a close up looks like there might be a flesh colored something underneath as Marc supects. However looking at the other photos Marc had up I noted that in the first one which was listed as Closeup 01 that the color of the string on her shirt didn't all match. Over her nipple area the color was much lighter. We can argue this thing to doomsday and not get to a real answer. The only way to know for sure is ask one of the people involved. James K. Griff,
I'm not sure why Dolores had to wear a flesh color body stocking under her Skydiver top when she was clearly wearing a bra. Double safety do you suppose? James K. [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] |

I haven't gotten that DVD yet, I do have a good bootleg copy of Moon Zero Two, a movie that ran several times when I was growing up. I've never forgotten the moonbuggy scene but my mind blotted out the soundtrack in self defense! Lana, I'm gonna gave to get but I think it's only released in Germany right now on DVD |

Thanks for the info on the DVD. I didn't know it was coming out. I hope it
makes it over here, so I don't have to try one of those video search services. Yes, Phil the Moonbuggy sequence with the shot out cooling system was impressive. I'm sure you like me were hoping it would get hotter!(if you don't know what that refers to its because you haven't seen the movie<bveg>) James K. Actually, "checking her boosters" is from the infamous TV Guide review of UFO, written by Cleveland Armory (SIC?) I believe that Marc had this posted on the site at one time, and from reading it I had the distinct impression that Mr. Armory was not really paying attention during his screening of "Indentified." Brings a new meaning to SHADO security ;-) ...they think of everything those
security guys... it can get mighty bumpy down there in a sub! For an expert unbiased lingerie opinion I have shown all the pictures discussed to my girlfriend who is a professional in the field and yet strangely knows nothing about UFO. Her SHADO SkyDiver female observations are that there appears to be no official underwear dress code, as the operatives vary from: (i) Clearly none at all! (ii) ...could be stick-on cups (iii) ...some kind of body stocking (iv) ditto, but with something else going on over the top... looks a bit weird... (v) a light sports bra - i.e. non wired ...and who am I to argue ;-) Griff -----Original Message----- From: [hidden email] [mailto:[hidden email]] Sent: Monday, July 01, 2002 2:33 AM To: [hidden email] Subject: Re: [SHADO] Updated Skydiver Operative Scan Griff, I'm not sure why Dolores had to wear a flesh color body stocking under her Skydiver top when she was clearly wearing a bra. Well, James, you have to admit that it sounds good ;-) I've got the idea when I watched the IDENTIFIED scene where Georgina was saying twice times: "Checking Boosters!" and the guy in the back was watching her, grinning. --- Jeff Kuzma wrote: > > Actually, "checking her boosters" is from the infamous > TV Guide review of UFO, written by Cleveland Armory (SIC?) > I believe that Marc had this posted on the site at one time, > and from reading it I had the distinct impression that > Mr. Armory was not really paying attention during his > screening of "Indentified." The text is: ---------> For another thing, although we are told that race prejudice burned itself out "five years ago", outer space, even in 1980, is still crawling with male chauvinist pigs. In fairness, though, some of the girls do have very important jobs. One of them, dressed in a silver- mesh leotard catsuit, had the job of checking boosters. She sure had all the right equipment. <--------- Christian |

Yes, it does sound good. And I am glad it didn't come from that stupid
Armory review. I don't thing he really ever saw the show. Gabrielle and I had a discussion a few years ago about crittics when she told me she met crittic Michael Medved at a art show and learned he was a fan. I said I liked his work and he was one of the few crittic who actually seemed to watch SF and Fantasy and Horror movies which most other critics seem to treat as "The Terrible Trio". I told her I thought most crittics must send someone else to watch these and then write a review from whatever notes or comment they are given because they often miss things that they wouldn't have if they really saw the film or TV show in question. I said I thought that this was most like where the comment that the acting in UFO was wooden came from. A crittic didn't want to watch a SF TV series about fighting aliens so he sent someone else to watch and then looked up who made it and saw the Anderson had only done shows with puppets and decided to call the acting wooden. If he had seen a movie with Robert Redford acting in the same manner he would have called it marvelously underplayed!
