Vehicle Design and Specs

T. Hart
Hi!

Well Marc, what with all the new blood and the new info they were able to
give you, I would think you would all the much closer to finding out all
the things you wanted to know about UFO but were afraid to ask! LOLLOL :-)

I would like to venture into the hardware disscussion area. I know you are
reticent since pervious discussions, I gather, broke down into a military
discussion. But SHADO was a military unit after all.

One of Anderson's visions was a jet aircraft that could fly like a
heilocopter. I am curious as to why one was never made in real life. Since
the OV22 is a propeller version the the jet, why can't the jet be made? As
well there is a company in the US called Moder that is trying to make a jet
car on thoses kinds of specs. What are the limiting factors stopping their
rapid development?

Any idea's out there?

Tom

The USMC HARRIER is a close approximation of that vision. If you've ever
seen Arnold Schwarzeneggar's TRUE LIES you'll know what aircraft I'm talking
about. I don't know if they perform as well as they did for Arnold in the
movie, and I know they've crashed on occasion with tragic results, but they
did mimic the helicopters vertical takeoff and hovering as well as the
fighter jet aspects.....
hey, is there a flight sim available with this aircraft?

And to get back on topic, does anyone have the SKY 1 flight sim that was
floating around online a few years back. It really looked impressive but
crashed my computer and I shelved it. Before I could play with it again my
harddrive died and I lost it....I know, I know; "Blessed are the
pessimists, for thay hath made backups" and I do now that I have a CDR.

There were, but nothing that really stood out as being realistic enough
to allow true hovering, as far as simulations go. Jane's Advanced Tactical
Fighters came close with a couple of STOL fighters, though.

It's available for download at:

You might also want to try Steve Christensen's Interceptor flight sim,
