What are you doing?

Suzanne Sutherland
I just want you all to know that I have sent an e-mail to the British
Sci-Fi channel and here it is:

I feel that I must write to you tonight to complain about your treatment
of UFO. Being a life-long fan of the show, I have seen this series
treated with indifference by so many. Looks like I'm going to add the
Sci-Fi Channel to my list, unfortunately.

I was all geared-up and looking forward to UFO being screened on your
channel. I had never seen it screened on digital television before and
I was looking forward to *not* seeing it on video for a change.
Watching it again with adverts gave my Sunday viewing a sense of
nostalgic charm.

Can you tell me why I have to wait until the 27th of May to see UFO
again? I could just about stomach an all day bender of Farscape (a
programme I don't watch) but I have to wait weeks to see UFO again.
I've been watching your channel for over a year now and I haven't seen
other programmes shunted around and treated with such indifference
before. Shame on you guys. Are you trying to tell us something?

Hell, I'm not going to go on at great length about why UFO is such a
great show. I'm sure you get that all the time with other programmes.
I feel I don't need to. The programme speaks for itself. I'm also
extremely disappointed that you never even had any trailers for the show
and yet you had plenty for The Prisoner. Don't get me wrong, The
Prisoner is a wonderful programme that I watch, too, but you could have
a bit more thought about UFO.

The last time I wrote to you, I never got a reply, not even an e-mail
stating that you had received my message. I really would appreciate
some form of communication on this matter.

Please don't disregard UFO like this. It doesn't deserve this type of
treatment. I know I'm not alone in my feelings. I am on a UFO mailing
list and there are other equally upset.

Don't let us down next time.

Thank you,

Well, the British Sci-Fi channel has come up trumps. And it was just
today that I was silently cursing them for not answering. Well, I'll
just have to eat my curse!!

Hi Suzanne

Thanks for your e-mail, apologies for not replying sooner, have just
been employed as Duty Officer to sift through well over 1500 e-mails,
post, phone calls etc, etc, hence the delay.

Will forward your comments regarding the lack of UFO trailors to the
programme schedulers.

Apologies for the UFO mis-scheduling, received several angry e-mails
from avid fans, next showing of UFO is 27th May, then 3rd June.
Thereafter, back to normal each Sunday, until 7/10/01. I have been told
that this was due to the promotion of The Studio Channel products, the
programme scheduler humbly apologised and said it was out of his hands!.

Best wishes

Duty Officer
