I have to agree with Bill's comments and Bill's (this one, silly!) agreement
with him. But I also agree with this Bill's summation of the episode.
SubSmash has long been in my top 5 favorite episodes. It's one of the most
dramatic storylines in the series, full of action and tough decisions. It
also includes an incredible moment when Foster hesitates to leave the
commander behind on the sub. Very impressive to the viewer who isn't up on
sub technology. *grin* And my fastidious eye was also delighted with those
tilted sets!
About the inconsistencies? Believe it or not, Star Trek (even with its
extensive Bible) comes under fire for inconsistencies from time to time.
Just goes to show you that you can always find something to complain about,
if you look hard enough. Luckily for Gerry Anderson, UFO fans aren't QUITE
as anal as some Trek fans. And I don't think that Bill (the other one) was
complaining so much as explaining, and I appreciate his comments about real
subs. Very intriguing. But it won't change my opinion about this episode.
Loved it!
Yours,
Denise
