Wigs worn by the male actors of UFO

jeanster911
I know that Ed Bishop wore a wig during most of the UFO episodes, but
I didn't know until today that Michael Billington also wore one,
according to this here:

http://ufoseries.com/faq.html#7

I must say that it was a very convincing wig and most becoming on him.

Ha, that's a new one on me !

... not that I watch closely for stuff like that...

Geez, what was it with leading cast ? (LOL)

I often notices that George Sewell's hair seemed "thicker" one UFO
than on "Journey to the far side of the sun" but I'd always assumed
that he'd had it "permed up" or something.

As for Mike, he didn't seem that diffrent (to me) in UFO than in "The
Prisoner" ("A change of mind"), which is the only other thing I have
seen him in.

I've have to rent that episode of "The Prisoner". How long is he in
it? Just a few minutes? I'll be renting that James Bond movie he's in
where he plays a Russian guy who gets killed by Bond.

Yes, it's a pretty small part. More info can be found

It turns out that AMC will be airing The Spy Who Loved Me this Friday
night at 8 p.m., so I can watch it then instead of renting it. Can't
get enough of Mike Billington.

Michael Billington

Charlie & Lorraine-2
Hi, I would suggest trying to find "The Onedin Line" if you want to see
him Michael Billington in a substantial part. I loved him in that role.
It is nice to see someone watching UFO for the first time. Just curious -
what made you decide to rent it?

Re: Michael Billington

Thanks, Lorraine. I'll see if Netflix has "The Onedin Line". And in
answer to your question, this page here is what made me want to rent
UFO:

Two handsome hunky men. Turns out it's not just eye candy. It's a
darn good series to boot. I wish it had gone for longer than just
two seasons.

Huh? You mean it didn't? But there were 26 episodes, right? 13
episodes a season. Correct me if I'm mistaken.

When UFO was originally shown, it was shown all in one season.

However, there is kind of a "season break" between episode 17
(SUB SMASH) and 18 (THE SOUND OF SILENCE), because their was
a 6-month gap in between filming these episodes, and some
noticeable cast changes. This was due to the MGM Borehamwood
film studios closing down, and them having to relocate to
Pinewood studios.

Re: Two seasons?

I did not know that. Thank you for enlightening me on that.

Was Space 1999 supposed to be a sequel series to UFO? I rented Disc 1
of Space 1999, but after viewing the first two episodes I lost
interest. It just didn't hold my attention.

I think I'll stick with UFO.

No, it wasn't.

Have you read my UFO FAQ? It answers this question

After you've finished with UFO and have rewatched the eps a bunch of times
and find yourself hungry for more, try revisiting Space 1999. You might find
your appetite rewetted.

Back in the day of broadcast TV, a season used to be about 26 eps. In
recent years with all these new cable channels, and series like Battlestar
Galactica, Sopranos, Shield, Nip/Tuck etc, show series appear to have
reduced down to merely 13 eps per season.
