Hey, guys!
Who would have believed that a bit part in an action series that only ran one season could have such defenders and detractors? Color me amazed! It must be because it's sci-fi. The camp seems to be neatly divided too between those who understand Mary and those who never will. It's been interesting to see the pros and cons of her character through the eyes of the fans. I suppose the deciding vote belongs to the man she hurt, and Angelo said it best when he told us that Straker still loved her in spite of everything. (Gee, girls! Do you think that could be why we hate her so much?) You guys are great! Hi Guys,
Just wondering - what do the Sky pilots do when they have to go to the bathroom? CU Lieve Col. I was starting to think that your body parts had been harvested by the Aliens. As far as airborne toilet activities are concerned .. I have no idea! But I would guess that a Sky One mission is generally of sufficiently short duration that it doesn't become an issue. What do real pilots on long missions do I wonder .. OK I just did a net search and found this http://webpages.charter.net/mcelwain/PSUITS-Chronology.htm .. which refers to a pressure suit used by SR-71 pilots with 'urine collection device'. So now you know .. James |

Hi Lieve, Being the space buff that I am, I would assume they have some sort of arrangement similar to what the Astronauts use for long times spent in their suits: i.e. a Depends[tm] type undergarment (I think the acronym is DACT-Disposable Absorbent Collection Trunks, but I believe that the Apollo astronauts affectionately referred to them as "Lunar Pampers") coupled with a condom-like device for urine collection for the males. OT there's an interesting piece on space suit development at: http://www.lanset.com/aeolusaero/Articles/SSuits.htm ttfn Teresa |

Probably the same as anyone else does, only with more style! ;-) Oh, wait, you mean while they're flying a combat mission, don't you? Well, in the Air Force, pilots had what was called a "piddle pack", a plastic bag with a chemical pad inside to turn the liquids into a semi-solid gel. This was somewhat less convenient than using a NASA-type urine collection device, but a lot more comfortable than wearing a "Depends" undergarment during combat! As for going "number two", I would imagine that they would have to hold it until they landed again, same as every other pilot in an aircraft not equipped with rest rooms! ;-) There was a space traveler named Wright Who liked to go faster than light He started one day In a relative way And came back the previous night!
