I was just watching CONFLICT last night (one of my
favorite eps BTW) and I'm puzzled as to the intense
antagonistic relationship that Henderson and Straker
had. Especially in this ep, Henderson basicallly wants
Straker OUT as SHADO CEO and says he'll block him in
any way possible.

Why this animonsity? They worked closely together in
IDENTIFIED, survived the same car crash and Henderson
even recommended that Straker take over SHADO
operations. Then every episode afterwards, it's piss
and vinegar. What gives? Did Straker run off with
Henderson's woman or what? Or---don't tell me:
Straker's ex-wife Mary was Henderson's daughter so
he's a soured ex-father in law???

That is one of the things that always bothered me - about this ep in
particular. Of all people, Henderson should have understood the
importance of SHADO ....

I think he did. But he seems to take glee in taking
Straker to task at every single turn. At least
Straker showed himself the better man by offering to
walk Henderson to his car at the end of CONFLICT.
