BTW, does anyone know when the next Fanderson Con will be? Denise _________________________________________________________________ Add photos to your messages with MSN 8. Straker, somehow it's always about you.

Nothing beats meeting a celeb at a con and hearing stories but to
finally get that information at home on DVD - and to hear new stuff - as watching the DVDs must jog their memories into new and exciting stories. Some celebs have the same stories over and over again and to hear fresh ideas while they are watching the episode is great. Besides, not everyone goes to conventions and not everyone will see all of the stars - I for one have never met any main stars from UFO. I remember years ago watching an episode of Blake's 7 with two of the stars in the audience commenting on it - and it was fantastic and when I heard that DVDs were doing this - it was like a dream come true. Of course I would still love to meet the people and that brings up another point....... Many conventions I have attended over the years had their autograph line right after the guests main talk. This meant that by the time you got in line after the talk was over - you were either waiting hours or possibly being cut form the line entirely. So, many times I had the leave the talk early to get in line - missing the great stories and such. I know not all cons are like that - I was curious, how UK and other cons handled their schedules? How does Fanderson so it? KP > Ken, > That's what Cons are for. You hear lots of neat stories at those. BTW, > does anyone know when the next Fanderson Con will be? > Denise > |

I think Fanderson does it differently at each con, due to all the complaints they get about how it was done at their previous con. :-) Actually, at Century 21, the guests talked, and then at the end of the day there was an autograph line with one big long line for all the guests. So no matter who you wanted to see, you had to stand in the one line. I opted not to stand in the line because it was so incredibly long, but in retrospect I regret it. My only problem with what happened was that some fans brought a dozen photos to autograph, so they held up the line (and all those photos showed up on eBay the next week). I understand they fixed that in later cons by charging you money if you want more than one thing autographed. Marc |

I've had to leave talks to go get in line. The last con I went to, you could pay extra for a *GUARANTEED* seating at the talk and a guaranteed autograph - those who didn't pay extra just may not get in or get an autograph. I know that George Takei sat for HOURS and signed EVERYone's autograph and Bruce Campbell does the same, but hey, can't blame a person for not wanting to get writer's cramp. << I think Fanderson does it differently at each con, due to all the complaints they get about how it was done at their previous con. :-) Actually, at Century 21, the guests talked, and then at the end of the day there was an autograph line with one big long line for all the guests. I got all the guests to sign my con program, but I ain't parting with it! (Unless I have a desperate need for money in the future <eep>) I covet allllllllll my con stuff and photos and autographs.
