it depends on perspective, punching a hole through the space time continuumto travel up or down line would be very expensive, if they can use that much energy why are they not using ti to save their world, or finding anotherworld to inhabit
as for traveling through space from longevity boosters, space time dialation etc well, to me makes more sense
the reason they appear close to the solar syste is maybe a shunting effect from one star sytem to another, lol

On the idea of different dimensions, some of which maybe our future, I'm
not sure what it's called. But it is a much more plausible theory that
