You know, I've always struggled with this one too.... It just
never made sense. Both men were such solid professionals for
Henderson to suddenly become such a dickweed. It ruined the
credibility of the show this, (and many other) of the
inconsistancies.
One of the ways I've tried to reconcile this was to imply that
maybe Mary WAS a relative, or favorite niece, or something of
Henderson's.
She couldn't be his daughter however, because they show her
father in CCAOK.
