Hello Marc -
are we going to start the episode discussions now it's autumn... er... almost winter?? There was some interest in doing so back in the summer, I seem to remember. So do I need to trot off and watch... damn... which was the first episode again?? I think there was some thought that we'd have Episode of the Two Weeks or even Ep of the Month to give everyone time to watch and then compose deep and meaningful, not to say insightful, posts. What do others think?? Carly :-D |

So I'd say that the earliest that we'd restart these would be January... assuming that there are people who want to do this again? I think I'd just cut & paste in my comments from last year :-) -- Marc Martin, [hidden email] |

I enquired:
<<are we going to start the episode discussions now it's autumn...>> And Marc responded: <<As I recall, we had to stop last years episode-of-the-week discussions during all of December, because people were simply too busy. Oh would you indeed, Mr Martin?!?! So you're assuming that new people to the list would have *nothing* original to contribute?? That it really *has* all been said before?? Hmmmmmm! Carly :-D |

Just that *I* would have nothing new to contribute... except for those episodes I missed out on discussing the first time. I think my *main* point was that we probably shouldn't start now, but should instead wait a month until the holidays are over... -- Marc Martin, [hidden email] |

Nice to hear about the renewed interest in going through a UFO ExE
discussion. Last time, of course I was unable to keep up so I would try to really plug away and keep up this time around. Over on the Space 1999 list we've just started a new ExE (Episode by Episode) discussion since the last one ended 2 years ago this month. This time we're going backwards, starting from the last episode and working up to the first hopefully in time for the DVD releases in the USA. I tried to save as much as I could of the original FAB-UFO/SHADO ExE discussion but it's a mess and needs to be gone through. I think I saved most of Marc's posts and any other post that mentioned info that I hadn't heard before. At any rate I'm all for it but like the Space 1999 new ExE it does need support to keep it going. If the people don't have time to write and comment about the episodes the thread will die a quiet death. One the other hand, my own lack of comments and energy to keep up with these last time (On both UFO and the old 1999 lists) probably didn't help much. Starting in January is a great idea, perhaps we can again decide on a viewing order of episodes and this time I'll try to view and write about episodes in advance so I can post when we get to them! I also want to suggest that whoever brought it up (I can't remember) perhaps you could be in charge of kicking off the discussion every week? Unless Marc wants to step up to the plate again? It doesn't take a lot of work, a post on the day the discussion starts and maybe a very short synopsis of the story (A few sentences). For those who don't have the episodes on tape I think there are most or many of the scripts on Marc's site plus a very good episode guide. Oh, and everyone I hope you had a good Thanksgiving on Thursday. My own liquid breathing aliens (My In-Laws) came over to the house for dinner and I saw something I hadn't seen in months in my kitchen! My wife cooking a dinner!!!! I should have videotaped it so I could play the tape next week when we're back to frozen dinners. At least for the next few days we have leftovers! I was hoping for the Sound of Silence but instead my wife and I were in the Responsibility Seat! After the dinner we were treated to the Long Sleep! Christmas next! Looks like I'll have to wait till next year to ask Santa for those UFO DVD's but at least it looks like they're coming! |

Hi Everybody! <waving at everyone on the list>

I want to agree with you, Marc. The holidays can be so hectic:-o Can we perhaps after the holidays start on it and then discuss it for two weeks or so. The reason I stated every two weeks sometimes I don't have the time on some weekends to watch an episode. That's why I'm suggesting a discussion to last every two weeks so some of us can have a chance to watch an episode. <puzzled look> Am I making any sense? Paul said >I'll bet that about, oh, let's say, 85% of the listees here are 35 or >older. Lieve said >Including me, I'm 46. >But when did the said listees watch UFO for the first time? I was 20. Well, I'm 41. I was a teen-ager when I started watching UFO. I also joined the fan club that was based in California at that time, too! I've said my part:-) C U L8er Susan Weller [hidden email] |
