This is a scan from a 2 1/4" transparency that Doug Pelton was > kind enough to loan to me. Doug Pelton ... tall, lanky guy from Canada with a big moustache? Haven't heard of him for ages. He was a great friend when I was in my local Fanderson group, he came over for a couple of cons and yep, I have a photo of us all together at one ... somewhere. Yes, I thought you'd like that... :-) The only problem I still have is the correct color for Sky One. I've now got 3 different photos of Sky One on my "hardware photos" page, and each one has a distinctly different color! My suspicion is that Sky One is a kind of brownish color, although many times it appears in photographs to be a greenish color. The original scan yesterdays new addition was a sort of blue-ish color, which I adjusted to make it a bit more brown. Also, Paolo Malaguti emailed me to note that the new photo of Joan Harrington has an accurate color for the purple wig, which often appears too red in photos (even the DVD's aren't that accurate when it comes to the wig color). Paolo should know, since he has one of the original purple wigs... Marc |

As I recall, the color of Skydiver was Ford Oyster Gold.... a popular
color in the sixties. Where you may find it these days is a tough one. You should be able to find a match at most car paint suppliers. The nose of the Sky 1 was another gold metallic that I can't recall at the moment, but will check my notes. best, KK -----Original Message----- From: dlecleir <[hidden email]> To: [hidden email] Sent: Tue, 21 Oct 2008 4:34 pm Subject: [SHADO] Re: new Sky One photo --- In [hidden email], "Marc Martin" <marc@...> wrote: > > > Thanks for Posting that COOL Pic!!!!!!!! > > Yes, I thought you'd like that... :-) > > The only problem I still have is the correct color for Sky One. One thing I do know was the interceptors were pale blue, but they came out white on the show because yellow filters were used on the studio lights. Cheers Rob |

Could it be that the differing colours of vehicles was in some way down to the way they were lit and filmed/photographed? In a similar way, the wig that Cesar Romero wore as the Joker was green, but on film sometimes appeared to be anything but. |
