I have been looking at the boxed set of UFO the complete seris on Amazon for over two years.  The price just dropped drastically so I had to order it for myself as a personal Christmas gift.  I am enjoying watching the series all over again now.  I have not seen it for many years.  I found this group through the UFO official web page and decided to join.

Welcome!

Yes, it looks like the going rate for the UFO Megaset on Amazon.com is
about US$26 including shipping... a lot cheaper than when it first came
out!

I find it interesting  that the UK boxed set 1 discs 1-4 is always cheaper to buy than the second set. I'd like to know what extras there are on the US Megaset.. and would they play on a laptop?. (and I am now hoping that they bring out the blue-ray version as I just upgraded my system!)
LtCdr ( who needs a SHADO Mobile now to help her finish her Christmas shopping in the snow!) And welcome to the new member as well!

Well, the UK set 1-4 is a cheapened ITV re-release of the original
1-4 set, while I think the 5-8 set is still the original Carlton
release (someone correct me if I'm wrong).

Special features include commentary tracks on the episodes IDENTIFIED
(Gerry Anderson), SUB-SMASH (Ed Bishop), KILL STRAKER (Mike Billington
& director Alan Perry), and TIMELASH (Sylvia Anderson & Wanda Ventham),
and miscellaneous video/audio outtakes. A&E also advertises
"production photos", however these unfortunately are just frame grabs
from the episodes.

Of course!  Although it's possible you might have to get some
software to work around the region encoding on the discs.

Hi,

normally US DVDs play just fine on any regular current DVD drive. Of course the older ones might play up.

Cheers

Oh, and FYI, the Australian UFO set is usually regarded as having the
most/best extra features:

But that one costs more than the USA UFO Megaset...
