MerenTau
Greetings,

I'm MerenTau, newly arrived. I've been a fan since the early '70s
when UFO first arrived in the States (SuperCar, Fireball XL5 &
Thunderbirds long before that). Don't know why it has taken me so
long to think about searching for a UFO fan site -- duh!

Gee, where do I start.... ok, let's see, back in the '70s, my
roommates and I developed the 'Gulf Coast Sector Control' for SHADO -
USA. Yeah, big words and big games. We 'based' out of Houston and
had a Skydiver 'base' in nearby Clear Lake. <grin> And we wrote
stories and made outfits and really had some fun times.

Then we visited California and got to meet some of the other fans at
EquiCon '74 (??). The folks out there had made a replica of
Straker's office and we showed up with 2 Moonbase Operatives (we
called them... Moon-Bunnies) and 1 day-glo, orange-clad Alien (yeah,
we had a bad color reference ). It was a blast! Those were the
days. I'd like to post some of the old photos, if I may.

Just wanted to say "Hi, happy to be here and can't wait to get to
know you all.

Later,

MenerTau
(aka Col. Dyan Ford, SHADO-GCSC)

Welcome to the group, MenerTau!

I'd be happy to put your old photos on my UFO Series Home
Page (http://ufoseries.com). You can just email them
directly to me, and don't be shy about file sizes,
resolution, number of pictures, etc... my inbox can take it! :-)

I don't think I've heard of SHADO-GCSC -- were there newsletters
produced by this club?
