That is why LIS changed direction. They tried to get back to solid adventure with many of the season three episodes but it was too late and alot of shows were just silly, however I am still a fan and like I said its warts and all for me. I think that LIS was a family adventure show that became a childrens show, UFO was just ahead of its time and I know that there were at least 2 episodes that were banned in Australia on its second run. Looking at it as an adult years later I remember thinking WOW this was really not a kids show even though that would have been the intention, certainly one of Gerry Andersons darker shows which is great because it stands apart from his other shows. I mean how many kids out there in the 60s and 70s watched Doctor Who from behind the couch????????????? They just dont make shows that are that special anymore be they for kids or adults. I happen to be a fan of LIS (warts and all, as you say, LOL) also. Have all 3 seasons on DVD. But if I had a magic wand, I'd make it so there were three seasons of UFO, and one season (the 1st) of LIS. Even further off topic, the first half of the first season of Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea finally comes out in February of next year on DVD. Woohoo (about time)!

To touch on another sci-fi icon, I'm in the middle of watching "Damnation Alley" on SciFi channel, from 1977...and it just dawned on me how very much the personnel carriers in this movie resemble the Shado mobiles. Coincedence? What do ya'll think? Peace all, Mark
