Okay, one more list of UFO airdates -- perhaps the most
important of all, since this is the order that led to CBS almost ordering another batch of episodes, and then changing their minds as ratings dropped... I see that other independent US stations broadcast this episode in 1972-73, but not CBS. There was an issue of STARLOG magazine that claimed that CBS did not broadcast TIMELASH, but it appears that they got the episode wrong. Marc |

Thanks. I don’t remember it playing on that channel. Was it on opposite Star Trek at 7? Or was Star Trek shown at 6 on Ch 11, I think.
I remember it in re-runs then on WOR Ch 9, don’t remember when. I don't see a listing for Star Trek at all. It was against the 7pm news, "This is Tom Jones", Eyewitness Exclusive, This Week in Pro Football, Chiller Theatre, and Jean Shepherd's America. No wonder it was #1 in the ratings at that time slot. :-) Marc |
No wonder it was #1 in the ratings, since it is the best thing on TV ever!

in the san jose area in the early 1970's,
UFO was on at 9 pm on sunday nights. nothing else at all was one opposing it. just really crummy movies of the week reruns I guess. probably why I love all this sci fi stuff. nothing else was going on. and waiting all year for a movie to play on tv, or just sitting waiting for something, anything good to happen. everyone for blocks around were grounded for all the vandalism and running amok we did when we were freed. so we were always grounded, waiting by some used tv, that hippies would sell at flea markets, so there was no shortage. the oldies on the radio were really the oldies, please mr. custer, beach boys, and on fm stations, when the signals got over the mountains to the beach, pink Floyd and acid rock. mostly just sitting in the laundry room waiting by the 11'' bw tv for anything. no dr. who, no monty python, no sci-fi Saturdays, chillerdiller matinee had weird horror movies on. none of them very good most of the time. seriously, due to lack of competition, UFO was the best thing around for years. I think when mtv came on, we went to togo's samwich shop to see stuff, and they played a bunch of great shows and movies. then cable came in and a few years later, movie channels. but from 1970-1982, they even took the violence out of the 3 stoodges. so it was just moe yelling and then they all ran around the end. tweaky, the annoying little timebomb and kit the gay car were on Friday nights, would rather just die than watch that stuff. ________________________________ From: Bruce Sherman <[hidden email]> To: [hidden email] Sent: Sunday, July 7, 2013 7:08 PM Subject: Re: [SHADO] original New York City UFO broadcast dates / episode order 1972 - 1973 Does it just show the major networks?? thanks, my fault. Star Trek was a weekday program. I didn’t pay attention that you were talking about weekend programming. Notice what was playing at 4 PM that Saturday on Ch9?? The Avengers. Years later that same network would show in reruns UFO.
