And the hits just keep on * comin'! 8-\ * * * Dave Walsh * * ****************************************************** Hey guys; If you have access to the inside of the model, a good way to deal with thin castings is to get fiberglass matting from an autoparts or marine store. You can then beef up the thin areas of the model from the inside, before working on the outside of it. That way you won't have to worry about cracking the casting by handling it. Also, the resin has about the same properties as the plasic, so if you accidentally sand through it because it's too thin, or must cut or machine it into a better shape, it can be blended well with the origional material. Given a choice, I'd rather drill a small hole in the beast and fill the empty space with polyester resin, but I'm afraid that the heat from the chemical curing process might damage the whole thing!
