I've always wondered why she left him so soon after being married but if she thought he had left the military and was now working as a studio exec it almost makes sense. You can make excuses for your man for coming home late and not talking about work if you know it has something to do with military intelligence. If on the other hand you think he's working as a studio head and he won't discuss his day with you then perhaps you can be excused for thinking something else is going on especially when you have reports of him meeting up with pretty actresses. He had the same job before and after they divorced so either she knew at the time he was working for the military or she didn't. Karen |

Could it be that at that point in time, for some reason not mentioned in the script (or in the script but not filmed, or filmed but deleted), that other entrances/exits to SHADO HQ were temporarily out of order? Maintainance, for example?
I know, it is a bit flimsy, but despite what is said in the episode I can't accept that an underground Top Secret complex such as SHADO's only has the one access point. D Persica <[hidden email]> wrote: Of course, that makes sense, however, the "record" -- ie, the show itself -- says explicitly in "Timelash" that his office is the only way in or out of HQ. That's why they're shocked when they see Straker arriving when no one saw him leave via his office (or else they're shocked when he leaves since no one saw him arrive, I forget which). --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? This question can be solved if one looks at the script for TIMELASH on my website: http://ufoseries.com/scripts/timelash.txt In the script, Foster says: What d'you mean - he didn't come in ? This is his entrance to SHADO, isn't it ? Note that it says HIS entrance, not THE entrance. Then the next scene refers to the entrance for everyone else: 25 INT. SHADO PERSONNEL UNDERGROUND ENTRANCE. (STUDIO) THERE IS A LIFT DOOR LEADING TO A BARRIER, BRISTLING WITH ELECTRONIC DEVICES. IT IS GUARDED BY TWO MEN. HENDERSON QUESTIONS THEM. So it sounds like Mike Billington didn't read the script properly... :-) Marc |
Thanks for sharing that useful bit of info. It confirms my reasoning that while not stated in the series itself, there must have been more than one entrance/exit to SHADO HQ.

The new book by Clive Cussler, "Black Wind" uses those WWII Japanese submarines as a centerpiece. They used to put a float plane on the submarine in a special hanger, to do reconaisance. So, it looks like the idea has been invented yet again... Yahoo!
