Yes, and that's one of the complaints with the upcoming YahooGroups interface,
is that it appears that Yahoo is encouraging short, inconsequential chatter.

When people do too much of that on SHADO, I just put them in moderation and
start deleting these posts.  And then sometimes these people revise their
habits, or sometimes they leave the group in disgust.

Not at all... I prefer mailing lists, but there are those who prefer
forums too...
