Looked at another way, perhaps it's part of the reason the second
UFO series was binned. The later episodes appear to me to show a
fairly obvious step down in quality compared to the earlier set
of episodes. There's definitely a sense of the programme having
'lost its way' to an extent, with the surreal mindbending/
longevity-stealing/timefreezing stuff coming to the fore. And not
only that but one or two of the main characters had disappeared
as well toward the end - Freeman, Ellis, Carlin.

I wonder if the viewing figures at the time bear this out?
Speaking personally, if 'Timelash' had been the first episode, I
might never have watched the second.

Actually, do we know if Gerry Anderson has a favourite or least
favourite UFO episode?
