I think poor poppet Alec's getting the rough end of the stick here!!
OK, No, he doesn't have the same presence as Straker - but if he had,
this would only have detracted from the very pivotal & central character
Ed Bishop played, which was/is one of the most memorable in UFO, IMO.
Alec Freeman's rather more "human" character within SHADO - the
organisation of "beautiful people" - compliments Straker's perfectly as
his sidekick.
Lastly, Big bro Foster undoubtedly wouldn't get away with barking gruff
commands at his female colleagues in THIS day & age without being hauled
over the coals by someone at the top...!
