No, that was a joke - from a telegram written by George regarding a Paul
Foster ...

And I LOVED that party scene, so I don't care what y'all say about the

JEESH! Can we give THIS thing a rest? Maybe Mike just forgot some remote
long ago get together - or maybe that wasn't a con your friend was
referring to and OF COURSE England is considered EUROPE! What? You think
you're Australia now? A continent all unto yourself??

There ya go - it WAS NOT a convention, so <shrug>

They could have been at a grocery store together and your friend got
their autographs ....

Ut-oh. <hanging head in shame> Have I been a bad girl??

Anyone listen to Art Bell? The other night they were talking about the
harangue that guy Tito has been getting from NASA since paying Russia 20
mill for a ride up to space (SHOOT! Wish I had 20 mill for a ride into
space!). They were speculating what they didn't want this civilian to
see up there on the space station - one guy thought it was military, but
the other guy pointed out that there are astronauts from several
different countries up there, so we couldn't hope to plot against
another country without them finding out. No, he speculated that several
countries are getting together to combat an ALIEN threat from the space
station ...

Yeah, I could just see Ed Straker yelling at NASA officials. And we
haven't been to the moon again because SHADO doesn't want the public to
know about their moonbase! <nod nod> I agreed with it all and knew SHADO
was at work - except, they wouldn't harangue the poor guy and tell him
he was unAmerican for going up in space - they would have just given him
a wee bit of coffee and he'd have forgotten all about whatever he saw on
the station ....

Okay, time to go ....
