Yes -- on the Japanese UFO laserdiscs, every episode is longer than
49 minutes. However, on a video in the PAL format, episodes are
typically 47 minutes, because they are sped up by 4% -- the original
24 frame/sec film is transferred to 25 frame/sec video, where in
the USA, they repeat frames to keep the speed the same. The
episodes sold by Cinema Classics are simply NTSC conversions of the
old Polygram PAL videotapes, therefore they are sped up 4% as well.
There are not edited -- they are simply sped up.
