Funnily enough competing companies do share information on
occasion - I know that the investment banks in London held an
IT conference so that they could share ideas a few years ago.
The idea was that by sharing these ideas, everybody could help
to bring down their IT costs - so everyone would benefit.
Obviously no-one is going to share business strategies or
information that they think is going to give them an edge over
the competition, but in the case of the two DVD releases,
especially since they are aimed at different markets, they
could only have helped each other out really.
