Maybe this is valid data, or maybe not. But I recently tried to sell
my collection of UFO laserdiscs on eBay and the reaction of sellers
wasn't at all what I expected. Admittedly, my collection isn't
perfect since I've got one boxset that's from the first release and
two boxsets from the second release, but they cover all 26 episodes
and most of the discs have only been viewed once. Anyway, what was
interesting is that the highest price offered during the week that the
laserdiscs were on sell was $225 (that being basically the highest
price for the 2nd highest bidder). I guess I was assuming the boxsets
could theoretically go for up to $1000, although I set my lowest
sellprice at $500. Maybe the upcoming DVDs have dropped the value of
the laserdiscs dramatically. Or maybe my expectations were just
completely off. Oh, well, live and learn.
