I think you may find that they are indeed PAL encoded (They are
supposed to be), the US version Daewoo DVD player uses NTSC as its
default for the connectors you used on the back when you hooked it
up. It's just doing the conversion trasparently. (I have the 9000n)

The discs are region free however so essentially with that Daewoo you
just play them like any other US/NTSC disc. You don't need the
region hack or secret menu to get them to play.

The lack of postcards is a concern though, I'll be unhappy if there
really are different versions being sent to the US vs UK addresses
and I'll freak-sideways if the content differs at all.

If Carlton is sending out region-free *and* NTSC format then I'll bet
A&E will be fuming. The region-free part is already going to hurt
their sales of their edition. If the discs shipped to the US are
NTSC format too then thats gonna hurt.
