Yes, I have the Carlton DVD's and I haven't changed my region code at all. I
am using PowerDVD also, ver 4. They play GREAT. With either WinDVD or
PowerDVD you can do frame captures.
I'd get the Carlton DVD's and enjoy them, why wait. With the conversion rate
and shipping mine were about $65.00 US. Not bad, in my opinion.
Matter of fact I upgraded my system, just to watch the UFO DVD's. I
purchased a NEC DVD Drive off eBay and also got PowerDVD on eBay. Total cost
about $60.00. I was worried about the region coding. But as soon as I heard
that they [the DVD's] were region free, all fears went away.
It might be hard for Carlton to mass produce the DVD for each region and
that would cost them alot more money and the bottom line might be losses in
some regions while other regions either sold out and became unavailible.
Hence it's much easier to make them region free and let them play on the
region where the person is. A good call on their part.
I expect that Carlton has had more orders in the US then expected.
