There's a cutaway UFO drawing on Marc's site here:
http://www.ufoseries.com/books/jaguar6.jpg.. which shows the escape pod quite clearly.
A Japanese friend kindly agreed to translate the Japanese
captions which describe the various components are
- see below if interested. Wow, over three years ago now,
that's a bit scary.

Subject: UFO diagram translation
Hi everyone,
I met up with my Japanese friend last night and she translated the
UFO diagram on Marc's page at
http://ufo.simplenet.com/books/jaguar6.jpg.
The large, bold text at the top says "Unidentified Flying Object
[literally 'mysterious flying disk'] 'UFO' complete internal diagram"
(the much smaller text along the top is a Hiragana character set
translation of this intended for younger readers).
The captions with pointers to the cutaway diagram, clockwise from the
top around the UFO, say:
1. Universal frequency antenna
2. Shield condensor
3. Magnetic field convertor/neutraliser
4. Energy absorption panel
5. Anti-gravity drive
6. Ejector pod
7. Anti-gravity radiators
8. Energy convertor
9. High frequency magnetic wave Mebius coil
10. Piloting computer (optical)
11. Organic main computer
We had a bit of trouble with some of the terms as my friend is not
really familiar with technical/scientific terms in either
language.. in one or two cases I've applied a little bit of
guesswork in the interpretation, for example her first translation
of the second item was 'protector condensor'.
Interesting that there is no mention of any weapon.
I like the idea that the panels are intended to absorb energy for
the anti-gravity drive.
On Anthony's point that there doesn't seem to be enough space for
a pilot, I'd guess that artist intends for the alien to occupy the
'ejector pod' permanently during flight, just as a fighter pilot
sits in an ejector seat.
Cheers
James
