As I think about it, I remember that Silva released an album back in
1992 (FAB- Music from the TV Shows by Barry Gray)which was performed
by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra "conducted by Konstantin Pavlov"
(oh yeah??!)

Their symphonic performances of music from Thunderbirds and Stingray
were very good: but the themes from Capt Scarlet, Joe 90, Space 1999
(Y2...which was funny for a CD supposedly focussing on Barry Gray
music)and UFO sounded frankly awful. I remember a reviewer saying
that it sounded like members of the orchestra were jerking around the
room trying to play these poppy sounding,rhythm packed themes..and
not making a very good job of it. The point he made was that it isn't
always a good idea to do symphonic arrangements out of music which
was never intended to be arranged and played for 75 players (lets be
honest if Barry Gray had wanted to do this - or had the budget - he
would have done it himself and made a far better job of it).
