Mary,

That is an excellent comment. I think selling it as a drama that
is sci-fi based might just work. I've never seen any problem with
selling a show like this as a drama. Is the X-Files strictly sci-fi, or
is it drama as well? I would argue it is both and I think the best thing
for all Science Fiction producers and writers would be to sell their
works to networks and production studios on the "drama" side of the
story rather than the "greasy kid stuff" of sci-fi.
