Nothing beats meeting a celeb at a con and hearing stories but to
finally get that information at home on DVD - and to hear new stuff -
as watching the DVDs must jog their memories into new and exciting
stories. Some celebs have the same stories over and over again and
to hear fresh ideas while they are watching the episode is great.
Besides, not everyone goes to conventions and not everyone will see
all of the stars - I for one have never met any main stars from UFO.
I remember years ago watching an episode of Blake's 7 with two of the
stars in the audience commenting on it - and it was fantastic and
when I heard that DVDs were doing this - it was like a dream come
true. Of course I would still love to meet the people and that
brings up another point.......
Many conventions I have attended over the years had their autograph
line right after the guests main talk. This meant that by the time
you got in line after the talk was over - you were either waiting
hours or possibly being cut form the line entirely. So, many times I
had the leave the talk early to get in line - missing the great
stories and such. I know not all cons are like that - I was curious,
how UK and other cons handled their schedules? How does Fanderson so
it?
