Hi Kaoru and everybody,

The "Life at Stake" special aired here in Australia
twice is memory serves, although I'm a little fuzzy
on the transmission dates, (sadly I never noted them
in the transmission diaries I used to keep back in
those days...I just checked but they're not listed).

I think the first time it was aired on a Tuesday night
at 8.30pm and the other may have been a Saturday
or Sunday night around the same timeslot.

I remember thinking at the time that it was gripping
television, and it was the first time I'd seen Bishop
play anything in the flesh other than Straker.

For those who enjoy knowing such details it was
shot on videotape (not filmed) like most dramas
of the period which actually lent itself to the
documentary style approach in which it was
directed. Sadly I didn't tape it at the time of broadcast
(which was most remiss of me, and I might say, quite
odd, since I was recording anything and eveything
remotely related to our genre at that time....our
family bought recording equipment in the very
early days).

I'm fairly sure this recording still exists in the archives...
and although I do hope the BBC decide to release it
one day, it's probably not very likely. So unless you
can find someone with a domestic recording of it, all
we have are some nice memories of it. Which is a pity.
