Until about a year ago, I had no idea that UFO toys had ever been made. I'm assuming they were mostly available in the UK, as I had never seen them before, here in the US. So I thought I'd check them out on Ebay. I realize that ones such as the Dinky Interceptor were meant to be 'toys', not collectible diecast. But when I first saw them on Ebay, I made the immediate decision to not even bother getting one. For a person that may have had one as a kid, I can fully understand the allure of replacing one from childhood. But appearance wise, these things are atrocious, IMO. The general shape isn't too bad, but I have to echo your thoughts Brinke, in regards to color choices. What WERE they thinking? I would have thought they would have been able to sell many more of them by making the colors a bit more accurate. Even as a kid, I would have turned my nose up at a green & orange Interceptor. The shade of green on the Dinky Mobile 2, while not accurate, is at least tolerable.
