I think it was easier for the writers to have her do
that than to make her three-dimensional. It's easier
to dislike a paper character than one who is real.
Mary comes across as the helpless, neurotic, trophy
wife. It's a durn good thing Ed didn't stay "military"
officially or she'd have buckled sooner. *chuckle* As
it was, the writers certainly left open the question
of why didn't she stop the boy from running after his
dad? One feeble attempt and that was it. Any normal
mom would've been yelling at him to stop and get his
person back to the house, now and don't run into the
road? (famous query in our house: do you want to be
squished like a bug?) And why isn't second husband
moving heaven and earth to get the drug for Johnny?
Why is only Ed mandatory to be super human? Then, of
course, there's the why does the States have this new
drug when it's so frequently the rest of the world
that's in the lead on releasing these things?
Ok, sorry. Can of worms time and they're all
connected. *snerk*
anyway, no you're not the only one who questioned her
lack of taking responsibility.
