Some internal memos written during UFO's pre-production indicated
that the Aliens may come from Alpha Centauri, which is about 4
light years away. It also said that the alien craft travel
many times the speed of light, so that the journey would
take a matter of months.

The contents of these memos were published in an old issue
of Fanderson's FAB magazine. I don't know if this issue is
still available as a back issue or not... (and I've never
seen scans/photos of the original memos)
