To tell the truth, I hated the old and the new BG. The original one was just
plain dumb and the second one was boring as h**l. So it scares me to think
of what could happen with a so-called remake of UFO or a utilization of the
series ideas a la Mission: Impossible - sorry - but Tom Cruise and his
movies didn't bring alive to me the series at all and I hated the very idea
that Jim Phelps could be made into a BAD guy. That was just plain series
assassination. Most remakes of series and movies are crap it seems (look at
that HORRIBLE miniseries based on the sequel to Gone With the Wind - I'm
sure Margaret Mitchell was rolling over in her grave...) and the movie
version of Lost In Space was no better than BG. I, Robot at least made
little attempt to copy the original story by Asimov and did not really bill
itself that way either. In the final analysis, part of me would never even
bother watching a UFO remake and I have NO intention of watching the Star
Trek movie in the making with Kirk and Spock at StarFleet Academy -
sometimes it's just better to leave the original alone and enjoy it for what
it was. Pam the Canuck
