As happy as I am to gear that JTTFSOTS is coming out. I would just LOVE to see
a similar themed film also get released on to dvd. It was a 1973 made for TV
{planned TV pilot} Called The Stranger starring Glenn Corbett as astronaut Neil
Stryker and Cameron Mitchell as Government agnet Benedict. It's been many yrs.
since I have last seen it shown {badly cut} on TV.

Anyone here remeber this movie? It would have made a wonderful series.

Some M4TV movies have started to turn up on dvd. I hope someday this one and
many more also get out on dvd. Remastered, uncut and clean.

A lady can hope can't she.

So that WAS real....

Back when I was a teenager I remember seeing that....
and then never heard a trace of it since. I missed the first
part of the movie, but remember bits of the latter part.
I also remember the guy's name being Stryker, and there
was some sort of a vast government entity on the other
planet searching for him, and there being these little radio
speakers in the native's pickup trucks giving out the
government orders and search news.

I began to wonder if it was a real movie or if I'd just imagined
seeing it.

The same thing happened for another movie I think I've seen -
where mankind sends these two ships to Mars in a race;
The earth is divided up into two hemispheres, North and South,
hostile to each other (like the cold war), and each side sends
a ship, (one named Typhoon, the other named Hyperion), and
they race to get to Mars first. I think it was in black and white
maybe made in the 50's or 60's.

I've made an exhaustive internet search for it but can't find a clue.
Has anybody else heard of it, or know what I'm talking about?

Dave H.
