Is this the movie where Chinese are tunneling under the US with the use of laser beam drillers?  They get to figure out where the Chinese are by making the entire nation go quiet so microphones can pick up the sounds of drilling???

  I have been recently downloading kitsch old 'B' movies from the 50's and 60's, as is my poor taste! and came across one I hadn't seen since I was a kid called "Battle Beneath the Earth" - it really is a rubbishy bit of old hokum made in 1967 starring Kerwin Mathews, but I had forgotten it has quite a large part played by one Edward Bishop.

  It was made to look American, but pretty obviously shot in England.
  (California never looked so wet and miserable!)
