Hi again.
Ed Bishop was frequently asked about his experience with Stanley Kubrick
during the numerous meetings he had with his fans here in Italy.
Back in 2000 he was interviewed during a convention in Fiuggi, near Rome and
gave his personal view on 2001. A short audio track has just been uploaded
in the Files section of the SHADO discussion group (Ed Bishop on Stanley
Kubrick.mp3).

I recall reading in a book that there were some "delightful"
scenes between Ed Bishop (the pilot of a spacecraft) and
the "flight attendants", and someone who had seen an early
cut of the film thought it was a mistake for those scenes
to have been deleted. (although I guess some of that might
actually appear in the movie, but only music can be
heard in the final cut -- no dialog)
