No they didn't; The Chinese (poor souls were painted as generic bad guys all the way through the great espionage / fantasy series of the 60's. The Champions pilot episode is a perfect example.

The Chinese were always painted in a bad light in these kind of films. Little did we know; it was not through underground laser tunneling apparatus or spacecraft kidnapping would they rule the Western hemisphere but by supplying cheap electronic goods and toys to the world in the decades to come...

I remember this movie. Always on in the mid afternoon; have not seen it for decades! It is good nonsense and passes 90 or so mins. The silliest bit is when the Americans make a prototype version of the Chinese counterpart but after a few goes it breaks down to which someone says "The Laser has burnt out!" ?
