Yeah, Full Circle was from season 1 and Another Time.. was from the season that dare not speak its name. S99 was a replacement for the much maligned but expected 2nd series of UFO but instead they went for several seasons of The Protectors and then the go-ahead for S99. Gerry said he set it in the far off future of 1999 as he was sure he wouldn't be around (smoking cigars a lot and possibly a bit overweight): It seemed for him back then a very long way off.
As usual the future is never as good as it is in science fiction / fantasy and me and my big brother are still waiting for blasted moon bases and orbiting space stations and colonies on the moon! S99 had a very definite vibe and biblical narative element to it. Koneig always refers to some greater power looking out for the inhabitants of moonbase alpha and there are storylines very suggestive of Adam and Eve, mythological monsters, phantom ghosts that haunt the person before they have died, a man who is immortal and incarcerated in a chamber with pictures detailing the evil he has perpetrated on his own race within a rock... the list goes on. There was some great stories in the first season, though most of the science and sciences / technologies were wrong and todays audiences would laugh / not accept it as they are just far too savy. So yes they will have to come up with an airtight synopsis.
P S As a child I was never sure if it was just a lump or segment of the moon that had been blasted away..
Always all my best and Regards
Stevan

Stevan,
Actually I didn't know that. Space:1999 has never been a show I followed much. I saw the original episodes when they first aired, but the entire premise wasn't very plausible so I never kept up with it or looked it up as an adult. I wonder what they're going to do to it for the new series to make it acceptable to today's savvy audiences?
Yours,
Denise

For those who don't know, it's where I discuss my thoughts while writing my stories. Stories that have behind-the-scenes reports now include The Bodyguard, Full Circle, Another Place and Time, and Writer's Block. I have a few more to catch up on before getting back to writing my Time travel series. Stay tuned for further announcements!
