Here's the quote on TVZone I'm refering to :

"Marc Martin, creator of the UFO Series Home Page(http://ufoseries.com)
recalls that when he first saw the series in 1972 at age 10, "I was
mostly interested in the futuristic vehicles and spooky aliens." Today
he says, "UFO's main strengths are the special effects, music and its
appealing characters. Its weaknesses are the slow pacing of the initial
episodes and lack of continuity between episodes."

Probably not... I'm too fixated on 1972, anyway...

...here are some amusing descriptions of UFO episodes from 1972-73

TV listings in THE SEATTLE TIMES:

- A deadly moon rock causes mental illness for two agency members.

- Agents hope to launch a space probe capable of finding the planets of

origin for those pesky flying saucers.

- Strange double-world causes trouble for agents.

- Dangerous craft from outer space penetrates the departmental defenses

and the colonel is abducted from his sauna bath.
