Yes TRT that duel carriageway always used to give me a thrill from my schoolboy days when I was an avid fan of UFO but most notably Lt G Ellis. I lived in Goff's Oak for 10-years until 2015, and even my misses used to have a snigger at the name from time to time, knowing I had been a fan of both the series but mainly of course Lt Ellis.
As I have mentioned here previously - if I recall - I met Gabby Drake once when delivering telegrams as a young messenger boy around 1972/3, and I think she saw I was a tad spellbound on seeing and recognising her - even though she didn't of course have lilac or mauve hair. She had a lovely broad smile I can tell you - and chuckled as I didn't quite want to let go of the telegram as I handed it to her.
At the time she was residing off the Kensington Church Street in London, in quite a nice area, not far from Hyde park.
Great memories...
